SECTION 1: AvB HIGHLIGHTS
Baze Vibe: Heated Conversations, Political Insight & Lessons from History

Tuesday at Apollo Veve Baze (AvB) started off slow, but by 5 PM, the atmosphere was charged with vibrant discussions that lasted well into the night. The main topic of conversation revolved around the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua last year and the ripple effects it has caused within the Mt. Kenya political scene and the country at large.

The discussion highlighted the perceived betrayal of the Kikuyu community by President William Ruto, who supported Gachagua's ouster. WanaBaze pointed out how this act mirrors the betrayal they opposed in 2022 when the same community rejected former President Uhuru Kenyatta for turning against Ruto. MwanaBaze Ndume opined that Kikuyu, known for their unwavering commitment to justice (kihoto) and aversion to betrayal since the Mau Mau resistance war of liberation, now feel alienated by the very leader they overwhelmingly supported in the 2022 general elections.

MwanaBaze askMRMOI shared his insights by drawing from Law 15 of Robert Greene’s 48 Laws of Power: "Crush your enemy totally." He explained that Ruto’s decision to impeach Gachagua, rather than eliminating a political rival, has inadvertently transformed him into a political monster. With the mainstream media amplifying his voice and the public rallying around him, Gachagua has become a nightmare for Ruto’s 2027 re-election bid.

The debate grew so intense that by 8 PM, every twig of jaba at AvB was sold out, and askMRMOI had even forgotten an important family errand. The discussion highlighted a critical lesson: leaving an adversary half-defeated can have far-reaching consequences, as seen in Gachagua’s political resurgence, which now seems to position him favorably within Mt. Kenya and beyond.

askMRMOI’s Invitation: A Call to Tradition and Purpose

Tomorrow, I will be attending my late mother’s dowry price ceremony, and I would like to warmly invite all WanaBaze to accompany me. This event is deeply meaningful to me, not just as a cultural ritual but as an expression of purpose and connection to my roots.

I firmly believe that such traditions transcend material concerns, offering a reminder of the richness of life’s deeper values. For those who cannot join due to other obligations, please know that your absence is fully understood in the spirit of AvB’s mutual respect and camaraderie.

For those willing to join me, I will be at AvB by 12:30 PM to gather my entourage. Whether or not you can contribute financially, your presence from the abundance of your soul will mean more than anything. I assure you that I will take full responsibility for your needs throughout the event. Let us come together in the spirit of community and purpose as we honor this important occasion.

AvB Maskani Editorial: Guarding Against Government Excesses

Tuesday’s political discussion at AvB wasn’t just a reflection on the past—it was a critical reminder for the present. The government’s increasing attempts to curtail constitutional freedoms, including the freedom to assemble, are alarming and must be resisted.

The right to gather and engage in meaningful discussions, as we do at AvB, is a cornerstone of our democracy. Such freedoms are not privileges—they are rights. Allowing them to be eroded, no matter the justification, risks undoing the hard-won gains of our history.

Let us, as WanaBaze, remain vigilant and firm in protecting these freedoms. Silence in the face of such encroachments only emboldens those in power. We must resist these excesses with courage, wisdom, and unity. Let AvB continue to be a beacon of free thought and open dialogue.
